Derek Horne is a community advocate for persons with disabilities and the elderly. His personal ministry focuses on faith-based outreach to those in need of assistance with subsistence, housing and spiritual development. He has volunteered with and supported organizations such as The Salvation Army of Palm Beach County, FL and Lutheran Social Services of Northeast Florida, Jacksonville, FL as part of his commitment to faith-based outreach.
Mr. Horne has served as a board member with the Center for Independent Living(CILO), South Florida Rural Transportation ADA Committee and the Palm Tran Service Board Paratransit Subcommittee. Mr. Horne attended Howard University, City College of Philadelphia and Trinity University. He is a United States Navy Veteran and retired Federal Law Enforcement Officer.
