Tiara Shurns is a native of West Palm Beach, Florida. She was raised by her mother and grandparents who were devoted to teaching her the importance of hard work, faith and family. She graduated from Palm Beach Lakes High School in the summer of 2007 and went off to attend Florida Atlantic University of Boca Raton, Florida. She graduated with a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from Florida Atlantic University in 2011.
She enlisted into the Army in May of 2012 as a specialist. She continues to serve her country as a Warrant Officer with prestigious bearing. Her awards and accolades include: the Army Commendation Medal, the Army Achievement Medal with 6 Bronze Oak Leaf Clusters, the Army Good Conduct Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, The Afghanistan Campaign Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Army Professional Development Ribbon with Bronze Number Three, and the Army Service Ribbon NATO Medal.
While being a devoted mother to her daughter, she volunteers for Habitat for Humanity and at the local soup kitchens within her community.
